What are the least stressful jobs? This is a very interesting topic we want to cover today. In fact scientific studies show that the probability to face serious depression or anxiety as a direct consequence of work has increased during the last two decades. The result of this trend is not only an issue of worse health conditions, but also of lower productivity in the work place (that means a lower growth of the world economy). As an example, in Britain depression and anxiety is estimated to cost companies £12bn a year.
Actually, I hadn’t any idea of what were the least stressful jobs before writing this post. I think it is because I'm not looking for one of them. However, I frequently discuss topics with my friends about "a good balance between work and life". When you have to make decisions about your future you don’t want to start walking roads without having the possibility to rewind. It’s definitely better to be aware and informed.
By the way, what are the least stressful jobs? Studies reveal that there is a marked increased in cases of depressive disorder and anxiety among people in position that are actually highly demanding. But do not think that the most highly stressed jobs are held by white collars. I’ve found some interesting ranks on the net. The first one was the result of a scientific study conducted across Europe and US. The second one was taken from “1999 Wall St. Journal Almanac" pg. 232.
What are the most stressful jobs?
(Rank n.1)
1. Head chefs in large restaurants

10. Air traffic controller
What are the least stressful jobs?

We are a business students portal right? So, on the one hand top managerial positions seem to be among the most stressful positions. On the other hand, Legal/accounts administrators and actuary seem to live up. It would be interesting to see how these categories are defined since the two ranks are not showing the same results. What are the least stressful jobs? I think I'll leave an open question.

I mean, you have a high profile job, you have a high salary, you got no problems with paying the bills?
